Ellie's Birthday 2023

Events > 2023 > Ellie's Birthday

Ellie turned 9 and it was her first ever birthday in Canada. Franklin and Dana planned out three different events.

FAMILY PARTY

Ellie's first of three parties was a family gathering on Saturday. We all went to Franklin's parents house. Grace and Vrendy made a massive feast. Dana and Franklin brought Ellie's favourite; hotdogs and rice (mixed..yes).

We ate lunch and then Ellie sat with Franklin's cousins watching soccer. Eventually Ellie wanted to open up her presents. One after another she opened up clothes. Ellie who just turned 9 was surprisingly excited over her new full winter wardrobe.

THE FAIR

The next day, Sunday, we took Ellie to a fair that was happening in Brampton. She got to rock climb (she made it to the top multiple times), archery, go down slides, hangout with animals and more.

Ellie was spoiled as Franklin, Dana, Grace and Vrendy all bought her plenty of snacks. She ate cotton candy, got her face painted, etc.

During the face painting line, Franklin realized that someone in the front was letting other kids in frot . Franklin went and called security and when he got back a fight was about to break out. Between who you ask? None other then Vrendy and the guy letting the other kids in front. Franklin acted as the ref and broke up the fight. He threatened to call the cops and we got our money back.

BIRTHDAY

Ellie woke up early for once... She was excited for her birthday surprise. Franklin and Dana took her downstairs and showed her the big pile of boxes. Ellie was confused. They explained to her that we would be making a massive box fort during the day.

Ellie thought the box fort was going to be staying in the room, forever.

Franklin then took Ellie out for lunch. Of course it had to be Chick-Fil-A. Ellie had her usual, nuggets, fries and a coke.

We shared jokes, stories and laughs. We then headed back home to continue to work on our box fort.

"I WANT TO ORDER THE RED LOBSTER"

"YOU WANT A LOBSTER TAIL?"

"NO I WANT THE RED LOBSTER"

We took Ellie to Red Lobster for the first time ever. The above was the conversation we had when trying to place the order for what she wanted to eat.

She ended up getting crab legs, lobster tail (which was red, and she hated it). She said at this point she had the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! That it was an 11/10.

Grace and Vrendy gave her a cow book bag that Ellie picked out the week before. It was filled with school supplies. Ellie loved the bag. Why? Because of Chick-Fil-A.

We headed home for Ellie's final surprise, because 3 parties is not enough. Before we left to go to Red Lobster, Franklin placed tons of wrapped up gifts (thanks Dana who spent hours wrapping) throughout the box fort.

Ellie got home and wanted to give Dana a tour through the fort. She walked through all the gifts, eventually realizing they were there. She opened them up one at a time. Ellie was confused as to what they were. She thought it was that we were having a baby. Eventually she realized that she got multiple build a bears, and around 100 outfits. She absolutely loved playing with these in the coming days.
