LOVE LOCKS
The night prior to our Wedding, we toured downtown Savannah to show Franklin's dad the city. That is when we discovered a bridge, filled with hundreds of "love padlocks".Â
They have been attached to the railing of the 1875 Headgates at Savannah Rapids Park. The locks had the names of couples, dates, etc written on them. At Savannah Rapids Park, the love locks have become a popular way for couples to express their love for each other after a viral Tiktok.Â
So Dana and Franklin decided to get one a day later, on their Wedding Day.
DINNER
The first date Franklin and Dana went on was at a place called "The Pearl". It quickly became their favourite place to go to for romantic date night. They would get fried green tomatoes and a salad, splitting both. So it only made sense that the Wedding Dinner would be held at The Pearl. We all had fried green tomatoes to start, following by a ton of delicious main course meals and desert where our server wrote congratulations on the plate.
WEDDING RINGS
We wanted our Wedding Rings to match, but it also had to look good with Dana's Engagement Ring (click that and read the fun story behind the ring). Apparently this isn't a popular thing to do anymore. But this would not deter us.Â
So we searched and searched and searched some more. We went to so many different jewelry stores. While we could find something nice that matched Dana's ring, the male counterpart was very girlish. When it seemed like all hope was lost and we would have to get un-matching rings, that is when Franklin's mom found a nice matching set on Costco's website.Â
She sent it to Dana's house in the USA where she opened it (video) and tried it on. The set was perfect. Simple. Matching. Clean.Â
PHOTOGRAPHER
Dana reached out on Facebook to a photographer that she knew. But days later she didn't get a response. She sent out a message asking for recommendations for our Wedding Day. That is when someone mentioned Samantha Cole.
Samantha was super nice and ensured we got all the best photos our special day. She went into the rain to get extra photos. Even offered to purchase the love lock for us.Â
Her photography skills are absolutely amazing as well. We couldn't have picked a better person.
PASTOR
Dana reached out to her friend, Doug, asking if he would like to be our Pastor. He was happy to be a part of our special day. With a combination of a good sense of humour, a good voice and obviously the ability to have us get married, he was perfect to officiate the Danklin Wedding.Â
Doug is a very good friend of Dana's and a really kind person.Â
NOT A FAIRYTALE
As mentioned in our vows, "Love isn’t always perfect. It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook". Our wedding had some things go wrong that we wanted to document to remember down the road.
Live Stream: Franklin setup a page http://wedding.paadastra.com that directs here, to this page. He then sent it out to Danklin's friends and family. This way he could just attach the Youtube live stream to this page and not worry at the time of the wedding about sending out a link. He even tested the process a few days prior. At the time of the Wedding, he had started a stream and was having issues with the video orientation. Franklin figured he would just leave it as is. Dana sent him a text asking if she could walk over, if everyone was setup. He went to reply and it stopped the live stream. He could no longer get it working. It took a few minutes of playing around with it to get a new link going. He quickly, manually shared it out to friends and family.
Peddal Pub: Have you ever heard of a "Pedal Pub"? "Pedal Pub Savannah is your personal bar on wheels! Book a tour by the seat or by the bike for a trip around Savannah like no other"... it is basically a bar on wheels where a bunch of people pedal to make it move and tour around Savannah. As Doug started saying our vows, it was interrupted by a Peddal Pub that stopped at our Square. They were loud and excited. Our photographer ran and asked them to keep on peddling. After a few minutes, they left and we continued.
Homeless: During our engagement, we had a homeless man run across the square to take a photo of Dana, Franklin and Ellie together. It only made sense that the writers would include them in our Wedding day. They are a re-occuring character in our storybook. While Dana was taking photos prior to the wedding, a homeless man was following Dana, Ellie and the photographer around. Eventually they went back to the car. As they left, they saw him put money under her car wipers. $31 to be exact. What a nice gesture for our Wedding. But that wasn't their only appearance. After we were married, we wanted to go and take photos by these cool doors. When we walked over, that is when we realized there was a homeless person (different then the first two) laying down, sleeping there off to the side. We decided to just continue to take our photos away since he was not in the photos. We did snap one with him though.
Weather: Well we got married, it was not dark enough where you needed a flash to take a photo but also not sunny enough where Franklin required sunglasses. Needless to say it was kind of perfect. We then proceeded to take all of our photos. Right when we finished, that is when it started to rain. It was as storybook as possible. A quick Google Search ... "Rain is good luck because it signifies that you will have children, be cleansed of the sadness and tough times from your past and be given a new chapter in your life. It also symbolizes that your marriage will last, something that we all hope for". So there is that.

WEDDING VOWS
Dear friends, family and live-stream viewers, we are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Franklin Cadamuro and Dana Morgan.
Franklin and Dana created a special bond originally through Twitter. Yes I am reading the script correctly. A very brief history of their relationship, it started with a Tweet about pizza and now we are here.
A less brief history of their relationship: In today’s day and age some of the strongest relationships can be forged online. At the time of that pizza tweet I just mentioned, Franklin and Dana weren’t even following each other on Twitter. The Twitter algorithm kept showing them each other’s Tweets, where, eventually, along the line they started following each other. During the time that followed, Franklin and Dana bonded over funny jokes, memes and space. They spent countless hours getting to know each other online. They formed a loving and committed relationship despite great distance.Â
This relationship was no easy feat, but Franklin and Dana proved that love knows no bounds.Â
As we witness this union today, let us be reminded of the power of love and the strength that it provides us to face life's challenges.
Love isn’t always perfect. It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook. And it doesn't always come easy. Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on & never letting go. It is a short word, easy to spell, difficult to define, & impossible to live without. Love is work, but most of all, Love is realizing that every hour, every minute, & every second was worth it because you did it together.Â
With this in mind, I now ask you, Franklin, and you, Dana, to join hands and repeat after me.Â
Franklin, do you take Dana to be your wedded wife, to love, honor, open the pickle jar for and cherish her through all circumstances of life? (Answer: “yes, eh”)Â
Dana, do you take Franklin to be your wedded husband, to love, honor, make sandwiches for and cherish him through all circumstances of life? (Answer: “Shoot yeah”)Â
Would you please face each other and join hands?
Franklin, repeat after me:Â I, Franklin, take you, Dana, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, and thereto I pledge you my love.Â
Dana, repeat after me:Â I, Dana, take you, Franklin, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, and thereto I pledge you my love.Â
May I have the rings please?Â
As you exchange rings, let them be a symbol of your commitment and love for one another. May your love be enduring, and may your marriage be blessed.
And now, by the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride. Congratulations, Franklin and Dana!
